About off-leash dog parks

An off-leash park is one where a source records that dogs may run without a leash. The list only includes parks with that record. A fenced park is not automatically off-leash, and an off-leash park does not need a fence, so check the fenced page separately if you need one.

Off-leash use often depends on the time of day or the zone within the park. The NYC Dog Runs data, for example, describes unleashed use during park hours. Rules set by the park authority can change, so confirm them before you go, and bring a leash for the walk in and out.

Every park page names the source that confirms off-leash use and the date of that source. If a park is not on this list, its source has no off-leash record. That does not mean the park requires a leash.
